CBSE Curriculum
St. Xavier International School adopts and adapts the philosophy of CBSE to practice education for all without discrimination of any sort so that the needs of this age group are addressed. The prime focus of the school is to a great extent the same as the Board. The school practices a skill based curriculum and is content driven too. St. Xavier International School believes education is for life and not for passing the class 10th and 12th examinations. Children are given the space and democratic set up to enable them to develop the power of introspection and the belief that freedom comes with a responsibility.
Children learn the skills of learning for continuous improvement through CCE. The classroom transactions are designed to generate inter-disciplinary knowledge through interactive sessions by creating opportunities for processing information. Faculties in St. Xavier International School are facilitators in the true sense of the word as they model and coach the children providing the children with the required scaffolding to draw out their best potential.
Sports
The concept of Physical Education is not new. Since the time of birth, a child engages in sports in various stages of life. there are various sports and games. It’s a great opportunity for children to belong to this family and bring out the sportsman within. Archery, Athletics, Basketball, Chess, Cricket, Caroms, Swimming, Skating, Tennis, Table-tennis, Horse-riding, Yoga and Gymnastics are few of the sports with expert trainers at SXIS.
Sports are important as they enhance alertness of mind, knowledge of health and diseases, national integration, appreciation of beauty, human relations, discipline, tolerance, health and fitness and character building.
Community Service
Community service activities built into the curriculum evoke the social conscience of the child. Children are given an opportunity to interact with the underprivileged through a program called ‘Let Us Help & Share’. The students at SXIS are encouraged to interact with orphans, students of village schools and the elderly. This exposure helps build empathy for the poor and needy and concern for the world at large.
